P462-M illegal drugs seized in Cordillera in May

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police seized illegal drugs worth P462 million and arrested 38 drug personalities in the Cordillera region from May 1 to 31.

The Police Regional Office-Cordillera Regional Operations Division said 99 anti-illegal drug operations were launched – 65 marijuana eradication, 14 buy-busts, eight search warrant executions, seven service warrants of arrest, and five police responses – where 1,849,470 fully grown marijuana plants, 615,461 marijuana seedlings, 197,881.1 grams of dried marijuana leaves and tops, 27,365 grams of dried marijuana stems, and 335.64 grams of shabu worth P462,344,324 were confiscated.

Thirteen drug personalities were high-value individuals (HVIs) and 25 were street-level individuals (SLIs).

The Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) recovered P405,197,480 illegal drugs and arrested five HVIs and three SLIs; Mountain Province PPO, P31,407,600 and one HVI and one SLI; Benguet PPO, P25,286,780 and three HVIs and four SLIs; Baguio City Police Office, P282,892 and four HVIs and nine SLIs; Apayao PPO, 123,944 and three SLIs, and Abra PPO, P45,628 and five SLIs.
