Las Piñas police arrested a newly identified drug personality and seized P120,000 worth of suspected marijuana during an “Oplan Galugad” operation on June 1.
Las Piñas City Police chief Col. Ricky Neron said the suspect, identified as “Rigs,” 27, was apprehended at around 10:24 p.m. on Alabang-Zapote Road in Barangay Pamplona Uno.
According to Neron, personnel of the Pamplona Substation were conducting a routine “Oplan Galugad” as part of the city's intensified anti-criminality campaign when they noticed the suspect acting suspiciously.
The officers approached the suspect and conducted a verification, which led to the discovery of an eco-bag containing approximately one kilogram of suspected marijuana. Police estimated the value of the seized illegal drugs at P120,000.
The suspect was immediately placed under arrest and brought to the Las Piñas City Police custodial facility for proper documentation and investigation.
The suspect is facing charges for violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which penalizes the possession of dangerous drugs.
