No Senate session again, Majority bloc snubs plenary session for 2nd straight day

For the second straight day, the Senate majority bloc did not show up for their legislative work, snubbing the plenary session anew just a day before Congress adjourns sine die.
Only members of the Senate minority bloc were present at the plenary hall during the scheduled session at the Senate of the Philippines in Pasay City on June 2, 2026. With no senators from the majority bloc appearing on the session floor, the minority senators later left the hall and proceeded to the Senate Lounge for a closed-door meeting. (Mark Balmores)
Only the so-called "Solid Bloc 11" or SB-11 of the minority bloc appeared for Tuesday's plenary session, June 2, the second day that no plenary session commenced due to the absence of the majority bloc.
Present were Senators Lito Lapid, JV Ejercito, Raffy Tulfo, Bam Aquino, Tito Sotto, Sherwin Gatchalian, Risa Hontiveros, Ping Lacson, Migz Zubiri, Erwin Tulfo, and Kiko Pangilinan
Not a single senator from the majority bloc appeared.
They are composed of Cayetano, Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda, Senators Joel Villanueva, Pia Cayetano, Bong Go, Imee Marcos, Rodante Marcoleta, Robin Padilla, Francis "Chiz" Escudero, Mark and Camille Villar
Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa also belong to the majority.
Marcoleta stated in a DZBB interview earlier that he will attend the session.
At 3:18 p.m., Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri told reporters that Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano and the majority bloc will no longer appear.
"Alan called and told us that they won't be coming," Zubiri said.
Just as this was happening, Cayetano went live on Facebook.
