Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival draws thousands in celebration of city's prized dish

Thousands of Bacolodnons, tourists, and food enthusiasts gathered for the Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival, a three-day celebration honoring the city's iconic grilled chicken dish and the culinary tradition that helped put Bacolod on the gastronomic map.
Led by the City Government of Bacolod, the festival showcased the flavors, history, and cultural significance of chicken inasal through parades, cultural performances, and food-centric activities. Several of the festival’s biggest events, including the Grand Chicken Inasal Parade and Inasal Market, were held at Megaworld's The Upper East, drawing large crowds in celebration of Bacolod's signature dish.
Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya, together with city tourism and local government officials, led the ceremonial grilling that marked the opening of this year's festival.
Festivalgoers flocked to the Inasal Market at The Upper East to sample chicken inasal from some of Bacolod's most renowned inasal makers.
A wide variety of chicken inasal from Bacolod's well-loved inasal makers served as a major crowd draw, showcasing the distinct flavors that have made the city famous.
Among the highlights was the inaugural Grand Chicken Inasal Parade, which drew large crowds with colorful floats featuring some of Bacolod's most beloved chicken inasal establishments. The festivities also featured the Street and Arena Dance Competitions, where participating barangays captivated audiences with energetic performances inspired by the city's rich culinary heritage.
Dancers filled the main boulevard of Megaworld's The Upper East with music, movement, and vibrant costumes as they performed before festivalgoers.

Together, these culinary attractions reinforced Bacolod's reputation as one of the country's premier food destinations while giving visitors an authentic taste of the city's celebrated cuisine.
