Deepal has opened its first Philippine showroom along Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City, giving the brand a dedicated retail and service facility as it begins local deliveries of its range-extended electric vehicles.
The Deepal Shaw showroom was inaugurated on May 20, 2026, with Mandaluyong City Mayor Carmelita “Menchie” Abalos, Vice Mayor Antonio Suva Jr., representatives from Changan Automobile, Autohub Group, financial partners, media guests, and customers in attendance.
The facility covers around 1,562 square meters and can display four vehicles. It also has 10 service bays, allowing the site to handle both sales and aftersales support for Deepal customers.
Deepal in the Philippines
Deepal is distributed in the Philippines by Autohub Group. The opening was also attended by representatives from Changan Automobile, including Leslie Wu, Vice Director of Changan Automobile.
Leslie Wu, Vice Director of Changan Auto Southeast Asia, was present to welcome guests and talk briefly about the Deepal brand.
“The Philippines is an important market for Changan and Deepal. Through our partnership with Autohub Group, we are committed to bringing advanced, intelligent, and sustainable mobility solutions closer to Filipino customers,” Wu said.
Autohub Group President Willy Tee Ten addresses guests at the opening of the new Deepal showroom in Mandaluyong
Autohub Group President Willy Tee Ten said the showroom opening also reflects the group’s 27 years in the automotive industry. He cited Deepal’s range-extended electric vehicle technology as one of the features that could make electrified mobility more practical for Filipino drivers, particularly for those who want electric motor drive with added flexibility for longer trips.
“This is more than a showroom launch, it is the start of a new era in mobility,” Tee Ten said.
The event also marked Deepal’s first official customer deliveries in the country. The company turned over 12 units to pioneer customers of the S05 and G318 REEV models during the ceremony. Another 56 units were scheduled for release in the following days.
Deepal S05 and G318
The S05 and G318 are REEVs, or range-extended electric vehicles. Unlike a full battery electric vehicle that depends only on stored battery charge, a REEV uses an engine as an onboard generator when needed. The wheels are still driven electrically, while the generator helps extend driving range and reduce dependence on public charging during longer drives.
That setup could be relevant in the Philippine market, where charging access continues to vary by location. For buyers considering an electrified vehicle but still concerned about range and charging availability, a REEV gives them an electric driving experience without relying solely on charging stops.
With the Shaw facility now operational, Deepal begins its Philippine rollout with a physical base for sales, service, and customer support. The first batch of S05 and G318 customer units also moves the brand from launch activity into actual ownership, which will be a more important test for the new entrant as it builds awareness in the local market.
