ILOILO CITY – Police Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño, Police Regional Office-6 chief, won’t reshuffle police officers but will strictly monitor their performance.
“Like I said when I arrived here, it’s back to zero,” said Tuaño. “Kailangan na patunayan nila na sila ay karapat-dapat sa kanilang puwesto (They need to prove that they are worthy of their position).”
Tuaño will observe performances of provincial, city, and municipal commanders in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces as well as the regional capital of Iloilo City.
“They are all undergoing observation,” Tuaño told the Iloilo Police and Defense Press Corps during a press conference on Monday, June 1.
“Walang indispensable sa PNP. Kung karapat-dapat ilagay diyan, ilalagay ko ‘yan (No one is indispensable in the PNP. If someone is worthy of being in that position, I will assign that person),” Tuaño said.
Tuaño moved two officers in his first week.
Police Lt. Col. Orlando Carag Jr. was named the new police chief of Malay, Aklan where world-famous Boracay Island is located.
Police Major Bryan Alamo was removed as officer-in-charge of the Pavia Municipal Police Station in Iloilo province. Alamo served only for five days. Tuaño dismissed claims that this was a result of a high-ranking officer at PRO-6 rejecting Alamo’s appointment to Pavia.
