Tata Taktumi embraces AI as creative partner on new single 'Not So Bad'
A Filipino-American performer is stepping into the spotlight with a fresh approach to music creation by embracing artificial intelligence as a creative tool while keeping human artistry at the center of the process.
The artist behind the digital persona Tata Taktumi recently released the single “Not So Bad,” a project that highlights how technology can enhance, rather than replace, human creativity.
Tata is part of Stage Zero Entertainment, the entertainment company founded by Grammy-winning producer Timbaland.
According to Pacific Music Group, the Filipino-American artist behind Tata began as a dancer through the Jabbawockeez network before expanding into singing and creative collaboration. Rather than shying away from emerging technology, the artist has chosen to explore how AI can help unlock new creative possibilities.
“Not So Bad” features Tata’s actual vocals and performance, with Timbaland providing creative guidance throughout the production process.
The songwriting, creative decisions, vocal performance, and final production, however, remained firmly in human hands.
For Tata, the project represents a new chapter in artistic expression—one where technology serves as an instrument rather than a substitute.
“It’s an honor to be working with one of the greatest producers while also shaping my artistry through this process,” Tata said. “This project is built on real performance, collaboration, and creativity, with technology helping expand what we can imagine. I’m having fun creating and it inspires me.”
The release comes as debates over AI continue to divide the entertainment industry. While many artists remain wary of the technology, Tata’s approach demonstrates how creatives can harness AI to amplify their vision while preserving the human element at the heart of music.
Pacific Music Group, founded in 2025 by Ne-Yo, Sonu Nigam, MC Jin, and former Warner Music Asia co-president Jonathan Serbin, also represents K-pop star Tiffany Young.
