Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid arrives for PIMS 2026

Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc. will launch the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid at the Philippine International Motor Show 2026, adding an electrified variant to Subaru’s local crossover lineup.
The model will be shown at the Subaru booth during PIMS 2026, which runs from June 4 to 7. This year’s show will also mark Motor Image’s first year as a member of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc.
The 2026 Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid combines a 2.0-liter direct-injection boxer engine with an electric motor and high-capacity battery. The system automatically adjusts the balance between engine and electric power depending on driving conditions, with no external charging required.
In low-speed or light-load driving, the Crosstrek can move using electric power alone. Under medium-load conditions, the electric motor assists the engine for smoother acceleration. At higher speeds, the vehicle relies mainly on the engine, while the battery is recharged through regeneration during braking and deceleration.
The hybrid system is paired with Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT and Symmetrical AWD. Subaru also placed the motor and battery along the vehicle’s centerline, a layout that works with the low center of gravity of the boxer engine and the balance of the all-wheel-drive system.
Output is rated at 156-PS at 6,000 rpm and 196-Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Crosstrek also comes with SI-Drive, which adjusts engine response depending on the selected drive setting.
Subaru’s evolved Global Platform supports the model, with a full inner frame structure and wider use of structural adhesives. The setup is designed to reduce body movement and improve the connection between steering input and vehicle response.
The Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid also keeps the crossover’s off-road-oriented hardware. Ground clearance is listed at 220 mm, while Dual-Function X-Mode allows the driver to switch between Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud modes through the touchscreen console.
The exterior features a stronger SUV-style front end, overhanging fenders, garnished fog lamps, expanded roof rails, and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Available colors include Citron Yellow Pearl and Sand Dune Pearl.
Inside, the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid comes with a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, a power-sliding glass sunroof, sport-styled aluminum pedals, and an 11.6-inch Full HD touchscreen. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the center tray has a Qi-compatible wireless charger rated at up to 10W.
Cargo capacity is listed at up to 1,297 liters. Subaru also fitted redesigned roof rails and non-slip sill plates with a mountain-range motif.
Safety equipment includes EyeSight 4.0 driver assist technology with a wide-angle monocular camera. The system expands detection capability for pedestrians and bicycles and includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Centering Control, and Lane Departure Prevention.
The Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid also gets Emergency Driving Stop System. The feature can bring the vehicle to a stop if it detects an extended period without steering input, which may indicate a driver emergency. Standard airbags include front, side, curtain, driver knee, and passenger seat cushion units.
Subaru Philippines has not yet announced final pricing for the 2026 Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid. The press material lists the introductory price as a placeholder.
The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid will be available through authorized Subaru showrooms nationwide after its PIMS 2026 appearance.
