Rider hurt after crashing into police patrol car in Manila

A motorcycle rider was injured after crashing into a police patrol car in Paco, Manila, on Monday morning, June 1, authorities said.

According to initial reports, the motorcycle collided with the patrol vehicle, causing the rider to be thrown off.

The rider was immediately assisted by responding personnel before being brought to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries.

His condition has yet to be disclosed.

Authorities have yet to determine whether speed, road conditions, or driver error contributed to the incident.

Police said an investigation is ongoing to establish accountability and prevent similar accidents.

Traffic in the area was briefly affected as responders cleared the scene and assisted the injured rider.
