The Parañaque City government has distributed educational assistance to 5,000 college students under its Tertiary Education Financial Assistance Program (TEFAP), as part of its efforts to support higher education and help students cope with rising school expenses.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez said qualified beneficiaries will receive financial assistance ranging from ₱4,000 to ₱6,000, depending on their grade average.
Olivarez attended the distribution ceremony and reiterated the city government’s commitment to investing in education through programs that provide financial support to deserving students.
“Education is not an expense. It is an investment in the future of our city and our people,” the mayor said.
According to Olivarez, the TEFAP program aims to ensure that students can continue their studies regardless of their financial situation.
The assistance is intended to help beneficiaries cover educational expenses, including school supplies, transportation, and other academic requirements for the opening of classes.
The city government emphasized that the program is part of its continuing efforts to make higher education more accessible to Parañaque residents and to encourage students to pursue their academic goals.
Olivarez also urged the beneficiaries to remain focused on their studies and maximize the opportunity provided through the educational assistance program.
