The Manila City government has reopened the Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center’s emergency room, restoring full operations after its May 29 closure for brief service and infrastructure upgrades.
The hospital underwent fast-tracked improvements aimed at upgrading services and enhancing the overall healthcare experience for patients and frontliners.
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said the rehabilitation is part of the city’s continuing efforts to modernize public hospitals and strengthen healthcare delivery in the capital.
He noted that the emergency room now features upgraded flooring and ceilings, improved restroom facilities, and modernized medical equipment to ensure more efficient and improved patient care.
“These upgrades are intended to provide a safer, more efficient, and more comfortable environment for both patients and medical personnel,” he said.
Domagoso also personally inspected the ongoing renovation works during the closure to ensure timely completion and proper implementation of the improvements.
Officials added that the upgraded facility is expected to help improve patient care and ease congestion in other city-run hospitals.
Domagoso earlier assured that investments in healthcare institutions will continue as part of the city’s long-term development agenda.
