New Eastern Police District chief assumes post

Police Brig. Gen. Melecio Maddatu Buslig Jr. has formally assumed his post as officer-in-charge of the Eastern Police District (EPD), with personnel expressing confidence in his leadership to enhance peace and order in eastern Metro Manila.
Buslig previously held key positions in police operations before being designated as officer-in-charge of the EPD.

In a welcome message, members of Team EPD highlighted Buslig’s experience, leadership, and commitment to public service, saying these qualities would help advance the district’s mission of ensuring public safety and security.

They added that his guidance is expected to inspire police personnel to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and service to the community.

The EPD covers the cities of Pasig, Marikina, Mandaluyong, and San Juan.

Buslig is expected to lead ongoing anti-criminality operations and community-based policing programs to maintain peace and order across the district.

Personnel also expressed their support for Buslig’s vision of a safer and stronger Eastern Police District as he begins his stint as officer-in-charge.
