NCRPO deploys over 4,400 cops to secure June 8 school opening
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will be deploying more than 4,400 policemen in various parts of Metro Manila as part of the security measures for the opening of classes on June 8.
NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said the deployment includes Police Assistance Desks (PADs), foot patrols, and mobile units ready to respond to emergencies and manage traffic in school zones, transport hubs, and major thoroughfares.
He said police presence will be felt starting this week.
We are working hand-in-hand with school administrators, local government units, and transport groups to keep the opening of School Year 2026–2027 incident-free,” said Aberin.
He also reminded the public that keeping students safe is a team effort.
"Every student deserves to begin the school year in a safe environment. Through Oplan Balik Eskwela 2026, the NCRPO stands ready to protect and respond, ensuring our schools remain secure spaces for learning,’ said Aberin.
The official also urged the public to stay vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police officer or via the 911 emergency hotline.
