Operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) driver in Rodriguez, Rizal, following a road rage incident in Quezon City on May 28, which left a 73-year-old transport network vehicle service (TNVS) driver injured.
The suspect, identified as alias “Bobby,” 53, was arrested at around 4:49 p.m. on May 29, 2026 at his residence.
Investigators said the incident happened around 11 a.m. along 20th Avenue in Quezon City, when the 73‑year‑old TNVS driver was about to turn right toward P. Tuazon Boulevard and a Mitsubishi Xpander, allegedly driven by the suspect, suddenly cut into his lane
Police said the MPV driver allegedly got out of his vehicle and hurled provocative and offensive remarks at the elderly TNVS driver, triggering a heated confrontation.
The altercation later turned physical, resulting in injuries to the victim.
The incident was later circulated on social media, drawing public attention and prompting immediate police action.
Following the victim’s complaint, personnel of Project 4 Police Station conducted a follow-up investigation and verification through the Land Transportation Office (LTO) database, which led to the identification of the suspect.
Charges of slight physical injury and unjust vexation have been filed before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, according to the QCPD.
QCPD director Police Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio commended the operatives for their prompt action and urged the public to report incidents responsibly and use social media with accuracy and consideration to avoid spreading misinformation.
