At just 19 years old, emerging singer-songwriter Isha Ponti is stepping into a defining chapter of her musical journey with the release of her newest album, "Likas," a deeply personal collection that transforms life's most intimate emotions into song.

Through 10 original tracks, Isha opens a window into her world, sharing stories of longing, disappointment, resilience, forgiveness, and ultimately, self-worth.

"It’s about me, my own experiences concerning love, dreams, and heartaches. It’s my story," she shared.

That commitment to authenticity is what defines Isha's artistry. Rather than creating fictional narratives, she chose to write about real-life moments that challenged her, changed her, and helped her grow.

The album's title carries special significance. Each letter represents a stage in the emotional journey that inspired the record: Longing, Illusion, Kindness, Acceptance, and Self-love. Together, they form a narrative that traces the path from youthful hopes and heartbreak to healing and personal empowerment.

Written entirely by Isha herself, "Likas" stands as a testament to her strength as a storyteller. To bring her vision to life, she collaborated with acclaimed musical director and producer Adonis Tabanda, resulting in a collection that blends contemporary OPM sensibilities with emotional depth.

Among the album's most poignant offerings is "Bakas," a song that captures the lingering memories left behind after a painful relationship. 

Then there's "Kabanata," a song that holds a particularly special place in her heart as it was inspired by her first love and heartbreak.

"Actually po kasi, someone came into my life and I thought that he was the one. Kaya naging protective din ang parents ko kasi ayaw nila akong masaktan at maka-experience ng sobrang heartbreak kasi nga first love. But I learned a lot, alam mo yon? Even if it was a painful memory, I learned a lot and it helped me grow into a better person," she shared.

Through "Likas," Isha hopes listeners who have experienced similar situations will find comfort, healing, and inspiration in her music.

Aside from "Bakas" and "Kabanata," the album also features "Darating," "Numero," "Hinga," "Halika," "Warmth," "Gulong," "Mismo," and "Riversky." 

To celebrate the release of the album, Isha will hold a special launch event titled "Isha Ponti: Likas" on June 20 at 7 PM at Viva Cafe.
