ANGELES CITY, Pampanga – Thirteen bodies have so far been recovered in the collapsed building here.
The latest victim was found at 12:59 p.m. Monday, June 1.
Five victims were recovered Sunday.
Due to the dense and unstable debris, responders used pry bars, sledgehammers, jackhammers, and acetylene cutting equipment to break through reinforced concrete and cut steel obstructions and recover the bodies.
The Angeles City Health Office conducted continuous disinfection procedures to ensure the safety of responders working in hazardous conditions.
Search and retrieval operations continue to recover remaining victims trapped in the debris.
Officials have yet to release the identities of the recovered bodies as identification procedures are still ongoing.
Authorities thanked the Chinese-Filipino Business Club Inc. and Valentinos Hotel Premiere for donating food and drinking water to responders. “Your kindness not only replenishes our strength but also uplifts our spirits,” responders said.
