Mayor Isko backs telco-led internet, digital learning push in Manila schools
Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has expressed support for a private sector initiative that aims to improve internet access and digital learning facilities in selected public schools in the city.
This came after Radius Telecom President and CEO Exequiel Delgado paid a courtesy visit to Domagoso to discuss possible partnerships that would benefit Manila’s education sector.
Under the company’s initiative, Radius Telecom plans to provide internet connectivity to select schools in Manila.
The proposed facilities are expected to help students gain better access to modern technology and online learning tools, especially as schools continue to integrate digital platforms into education.
Also present during the meeting were Department of Assessment Director Atty. Cris Fernandez and City Treasurer Atty. Paul Vega.
Domagoso welcomed the initiative and assured the city government’s support for programs that expand educational opportunities for young Manileños.
“You are welcome to do service in Manila,” the mayor said.
