Filipino fighters Kenneth Llover and John Riel Casimero as well as their respective teams have arrived in Nagoya, Japan for their upcoming bouts in the “3150FIGHT 10” on June 6 at the Aichi International Exhibition Center.
The 23-year-old Llover will be taking on fellow undefeated contender Michael Angeletti in the 12-round title eliminator for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) bantamweight title currently held by Mexican Jose Reyes Salas.
Casimero, on the other hand, is up for the biggest fight in his bid to return to relevance in international boxing when he locks horns with Luis Nery in a 10-round super bantamweight bout in a 124-pound catchweight.
The two Filipino boxers arrived in Japan after the confirmation that the fight card promoted by Kameda Promotions is pushing through as scheduled following weeks of uncertainty. The organizers had mulled the possibility of cancellation citing financial and scheduling reasons among others.
Another Filipino in Vince Paras is also seeing action when he shares the ring with Aoi Yokoyama in the undercard.
The Casimero-Nery fight serves as the co-main event of the card with the other being the title defense of Japanese champion Masamichi Yabuki against Rene Calixto of Mexico.
Also featured is the title defense of Willibaldo Garcia against Andrew Moloney.
