The Las Piñas City government continues to promote responsible fatherhood and family welfare through its KATROPA (Kalalakihang Tapat sa Responsibilidad at Obligasyon sa Pamilya) program.
The initiative, led by the City Health Office, was conducted on May 22 at Narra Court in Barangay BF International/CAA.
Mayor April Aguilar said the program aims to strengthen the role of men in building healthy and stable families by encouraging their active participation in responsible parenthood, family planning, and overall household well-being.
She noted that participants were given guidance on their roles as fathers, partners, and community members, emphasizing the importance of shared responsibility in raising children and managing family life.
Aguilar also underscored the role of men in promoting gender equality and fostering respect within the household, saying that strong family foundations are built on cooperation and mutual understanding.
The mayor stressed that active involvement of fathers and male partners contributes to more resilient families and communities.
Through the KATROPA program, the city government seeks to instill accountability and positive values among men, empowering them to become responsible partners and proactive members of society.
The initiative forms part of Las Piñas’ broader efforts to strengthen family development programs and improve the overall quality of life for its residents.
