The Quezon City government has announced that motorists should anticipate heavier traffic and temporary road closures in several areas on June 6, as the city hosts the Pride Run 2026 in celebration of Pride Month.
Organized by the city government in partnership with RunRio, the event will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Runners will pass through major roads, including Tomas Morato Avenue, Timog Avenue, Sgt. Esguerra Avenue, Eugenio Lopez Drive, Mother Ignacia Avenue, Scout Albano Street, Panay Avenue, Scout Tobias Street, and Don Alejandro Roces Avenue.
City authorities said temporary closures will be implemented at several intersections along the route, including portions of Timog Avenue and Tomas Morato Avenue, Tomas Morato Avenue and Scout Madriñan Street, Tomas Morato Avenue and Scout Borromeo Street, D. Tuazon Street and Madriñan Street, and Scout Torillo Street and Madriñan Street.
To ease traffic flow, the Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) will implement stop-and-go and rerouting schemes in affected areas during the activity.
Personnel from the TTMD, Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS), Task Force Disiplina, and the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) will be deployed to assist motorists, manage traffic, and maintain order.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes and allow extra travel time to avoid delays.
