The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is tracking down the driver of a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) involved in a road rage incident that left a 73-year-old transport network vehicle service (TNVS) driver injured in Quezon City.
The incident, which went viral after being posted on a social media page, happened at around 11 a.m. on May 28 at the corner of 20th Avenue and P. Tuazon Boulevard in Barangay Dioquino Zobel, Project 4.
Initial investigation showed that the victim, a TNVS driver, was traversing 20th Avenue and turning right toward P. Tuazon Boulevard when a Mitsubishi Xpander allegedly cut into his lane.
The driver then alighted from the vehicle and allegedly uttered provocative and offensive remarks, escalating into a heated confrontation that led to a physical altercation and caused injuries to the victim.
The victim immediately reported the incident to Police Station 8 in Project 4, prompting personnel to verify the vehicle’s plate number through the Land Transportation Office (LTO) database, which showed that it is registered under a resident of Montalban, Rizal.
Authorities said a show cause order has been issued requiring the registered owner to appear before PS 8 and explain the vehicle’s involvement in the incident.
They added that the case remains under investigation for the possible filing of appropriate charges, while follow-up operations are ongoing to identify and locate the actual driver of the Mitsubishi Xpander.
The QCPD urged the driver to coordinate with authorities and clarify his involvement, while also appealing to the public to report any information on the incident or the suspect’s identity through E911 or QC Helpline 122.
