Paralyzed septuagenarian mauled to death by husband

BAGABAG, Nueva Vizcaya – A 73-year-old paralyzed woman was allegedly beaten to death by her 78-year-old husband inside their home in Barangay Lantap here on Thursday, May 28.
Police identified the victim alias Nanay.
Investigation said that that the victim and the suspect alias Juan had a heated argument, prompting their neighbors to ask their children to mediate. One their children arrived and found the victim unconscious and the suspect inside the house.
Investigation added that the suspect used the victim’s metal cane to strike the victim on the head. Police said the victim had difficulty moving due to paralysis and relied on the metal cane for support while walking.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. Investigators said that the suspect allegedly frequently consumed alcoholic beverages.
The suspect was arrested and faces appropriate charges. Follow-up investigation continues.
