BCPO pays final respects to late police officer

BACOLOD CITY – The Bacolod City Police Office rendered final honors to Police Lt. Col. Romeo Vargas during his internment in a memorial park in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental on Saturday, May 30.

A mass was held at Our Lady of Peace Parish in La Carlota City officiated by Police Capt. Alexander Repaso, officer-in-charge, Chaplain Service, Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), before the interment.

Family, friends, and colleagues paid their final respects and honored his service to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Vargas was last assigned as chief of the City Administrative and Resource Management Unit at the BCPO and was due for retirement when he was found dead by his daughter with a bullet wound in the head in their house in Barangay Handumanan here on May 19. Investigation on his death continues.
