TLPH came out sizzling in the first two games of the series but had to dig deep to survive the comeback efforts of the Onic PH and march into its third straight Finals appearance.
With the Super Family threatening to tie the series with a dominant first 10 minutes that saw them take a commanding 5.2k gold lead in Game 4, the Cavalry held on to their base defense and endured repeated surges before finding an opening late in the contest.
A huge clash around the mid-lane river worked to TLPH’s favor as Alston “Sanji” Pabico scored a triple kill to spearhead a four-man wipe of Onic at the 17th minute mark of the game.
With only Clayton “Savero” Kuswanto’s Claude remaining to defend Onic’s base against a complete TLPH team, the Cavalry went for the base lock to complete a thrilling 12-13 comeback.
Sanji finished with a 4-2-8 KDA on his Yve pick while Karl “Karltzy” Nepomuceno added a 4-5-4 line on the signature Karltzy pick. Dave “Teddy” Vianña chipped in a 2-0-4 line on the Karrie pick.
The win put a fitting cap to the masterful performance of the defending champions through the first two games with Karltzy, of course, leading the charge.
The veteran jungler was uncontested on his Baxia picks through the first two games, allowing the rest of his teammates to quickly reach their power spikes.
He finished with a 0-1-9 line in the 10-3 Game 1 win just as Teddy dished out the damage with a 5-0-1 line on the Harith pick. Game 2 was much of the same with Karltzy compiling a 6-2-9 KDA. This time, however, it was Sanji who shone with a neat 3-0-9 line on the Kimmy pick.
Onic PH tried to mount a comeback behind a dominant 10-8 win in Game 3 but they just couldn’t hold on to the lead in Game 4.
