Sandiganbayan issues arrest warrant, HDO over graft raps vs Jinggoy

The Sandiganbayan has ordered the arrest of Senator Jinggoy Estrada, as well as former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan. in connection with alleged irregularities involving flood control projects.
The anti-graft court’s Second Division issued the warrants of arrest and hold departure orders on Friday, May 29.
The plunder and graft cases were based on complaints filed by the Office of the Ombudsman, which alleged illegal budget insertions and the release of more than ₱573 million in purported kickbacks connected to DPWH infrastructure projects under the Fiscal Year 2025 budget.
Estrada and Bonoan are facing two graft charges, with the cases assigned to the Sandiganbayan’s Second and Fifth Divisions.
Both are also facing a plunder case, which was raffled to the Fifth Division.
