Manila police bolster rescue readiness as rainy season sets in
Members of the Manila Police District-Regional Mobile Force Battalion (MPD-RMFB) inspected and prepared rescue equipment at the MPD Headquarters on Friday, May 29, as authorities ramp up disaster readiness ahead of the rainy season.
Personnel checked and organized emergency response gear, including PVC and rubber boats, life jackets, ropes, and other rescue equipment to ensure immediate deployment in case of flooding and other weather-related incidents.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), frequent localized thunderstorms and the prevailing southwesterly windflow are expected to bring occasional rains across parts of the country in the coming days.
Authorities said the move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen preparedness and ensure faster response during emergencies, particularly in flood-prone areas in Manila.
