South Korean singer Hyolyn has been hospitalized following a sudden health issue, forcing the former Sistar member to withdraw from an upcoming performance in Taiwan.
On May 27, her agency, ReH Entertainment, announced via its official social media channels that Hyolyn would no longer appear at the Fubon Guardians G! POP Music Festival in Taipei due to unavoidable circumstances.
The agency said the singer was taken to the hospital following an emergency and is currently receiving in-patient treatment.
“The artist was transferred to the hospital due to an emergency situation, and according to medical staff, she requires hospitalization and rest,” the agency said. “After comprehensively considering her health condition and safety, she is unable to participate in the event.”
The company apologized to fans and organizers in Taiwan over the sudden cancellation.
“We feel a heavy sense of responsibility for delivering this sudden news,” the agency said. “We sincerely apologize to fans in Taiwan, as well as the Fubon Guardians club and related officials who worked hard to prepare for the event.”
The agency added that Hyolyn was especially disappointed because she had been looking forward to meeting fans through the performance and would now focus on treatment and recovery.
