Donny Pangilinan has revealed the intense effort he exerted to build a genuine connection with actress Belle Mariano, even before they were officially paired as a love team.

The revelation came via comedian-host Vice Ganda's vlog.

“Matagal mong niligawan si Belle? Na-enjoy mo ‘yung panliligaw mo kay Belle?” Vice asked at one point in the vlog, prompting Donny to pause before answering.

Donny did not explicitly confirm a traditional courtship but admitted the significant effort he invested in getting to know Belle during their early interactions.

“Grabe ‘yung effort ko nun. I think binigay ko naman ‘yung kaya kong ibigay,” he said, with Belle visibly agreeing.

He added that it was the first time he had put in that level of effort for a girl while managing multiple responsibilities at the same time.

“First time ko na ganoon ka-effort and we are in the middle of so many things so parang kailangan mo pang isipin ‘yun,” Donny explained.

Belle, for her part, expressed appreciation for Donny’s sincerity, recalling how he would travel from Laguna to Antipolo just to see her despite the distance. 

The candid exchange made fans swoon.

In the comments section, not a few of them insisted that the two should continue and actually become lovers in  real life.
Said one, "Totohanin na kasi!!"
"Bagay na bagay sila, sana sila pa rin in the end," added another.
No doubt, these same fans helped propel the success of the duo's final on-screen project together, "Tayo Sa Wakas", as directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana under Star Cinema.

The film has been performing strongly at the box office, earning an estimated ₱12 million on its opening day alone.

Released on May 27 across more than 250 cinemas nationwide, the movie drew significant audience turnout from fans of the DonBelle tandem, contributing to its solid debut.

Star Cinema later confirmed the strong opening in a social media post, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support and encouraging viewers to continue watching the film.
