Governor Daniel R. Fernando has called on Bulakenyos to proudly display the Philippine flag in their homes, schools, offices, and establishments from May 28 to June 12, in observance of National Flag Days and in commemoration of the 128th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence.
Fernando stressed that the act of displaying the flag is a powerful reminder of courage, unity, and love for the country, honoring the Filipinos who sacrificed their lives for freedom.
“The Philippine flag served as an inspiration to the revolutionaries during General Emilio Aguinaldo’s time. It continues to rekindle the greatness of Filipinos who fought for our sovereignty,” Fernando said.
He added, “May the patriotism and appreciation of freedom that is the foundation of a stable and prosperous nation remain burning in the heart of every citizen.”
The provincial government formally launched the celebration with a flag-raising ceremony and a short but meaningful program in front of the Bulacan Capitol on Thursday morning, May 28. The event highlighted the importance of the flag as a symbol of independence and national pride.
Governor Fernando was joined by Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, department heads, and employees of the provincial government.
