Retro chic and modern sophistication come together in Boss' latest collaboration with Porsche

As retro style continues to play in the minds of today’s fashion savants, brands are coming up with multiple ways to take it beyond the vintage vibes. After all, retro style must be nostalgic and fun, but also cool. For its spring-summer 2026 offering, menswear brand Hugo Boss unveiled pieces fit for the on-the-go gents, inspired by a ride that’s also iconic: the Porsche 911 Spirit 70.

Launched last year, the Porsche 911 Spirit 70 is part of Porsche’s Heritage Design series. Its design pays tribute to the design language, culture, and atmosphere of the 1970s and early 1980s. To echo that into something wearable, Boss and Porsche forged a partnership, resulting in a collection that is all about performance and style.
Last May 14, at Boss’ boutique at Greenbelt 5 in Makati City, Manila Bulletin Lifestyle got a preview of the collection. It features a lineup of sporty, tech-led essentials that combine timeless character with progressive design.
The collection leans heavily into the current appetite for retro menswear, where archive-inspired dressing is reimagined through modern tailoring and technical fabrication. While silhouettes remain clean and contemporary, details such as textured knits, relaxed cuts, and motorsport-inspired accents channel the effortless cool associated with 1970s leisurewear and racing culture.

From silk-blend hybrid jackets to versatile denim and jacquard shirting, each piece is designed to move seamlessly from day to night. A defining feature of the collection is its colorway, a nod to the Olive Neo of the 911 Spirit 70, and the reinterpretations of the Porsche Pasha pattern.
Beyond aesthetics, functionality also plays a major role in the lineup. Lightweight outerwear, breathable materials, and travel-ready separates reflect the needs of today’s fast-moving lifestyle, allowing the collection to balance luxury with practicality. The result is a wardrobe that feels polished yet easy, designed for men who move between work, travel, and leisure without changing pace.
What makes the collaboration work is the natural synergy between both brands. Porsche has long been associated with precision engineering and timeless design, while Boss built its identity on sharp tailoring and understated sophistication. Together, they create a visual language that speaks to modern masculinity—refined, performance-driven, and quietly confident.
Much like the Porsche 911 Spirit 70 itself, the collection does not simply replicate the past. Instead, it reframes nostalgia through a modern lens, proving that retro style today is less about looking back and more about finding new ways to move forward.
The Porsche x Boss capsule collection is exclusively available at Greenbelt 5, Shangri-La East Wing, and Solaire.
