Dongfeng Motors Philippines has launched the Vigo EV in the local market, adding a new fully electric SUV to its lineup with a 51.87 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, a stated 471-kilometer driving range, fast-charging capability, and a ₱1,458,000 price tag.
The Vigo EV was introduced at the East Wing Atrium of GH Mall, where Dongfeng Motors Philippines executives presented the model as a practical electric vehicle for daily use and longer drives.
“The Vigo EV represents our vision of bringing smart, efficient and accessible electric mobility closer to Filipino customers,” said Mr. Brennan Lim, Deputy CEO of Dongfeng Motors Philippines. “We are proud to introduce a vehicle that combines innovation, practicality and confidence for everyday driving.”
The Vigo EV uses a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor rated at 120 kW and 230 Nm. Its battery carries an IP67 water resistance rating, with protection from water immersion of up to 30 minutes at a depth of one meter. The model also comes with a built-in 6.6 kW onboard AC charger.
The SUV uses a CCS2 inlet for DC fast charging and a Type 2 connection for AC charging. With 3C fast-charging technology, the system can deliver peak charging power of up to 154 kW. The Vigo EV can complete an efficient charge in as little as 18 minutes. A five-minute rapid charge can also add up to 114 kilometers of range, depending on charging conditions.
The 471-kilometer stated range based on the CLTC standard gives the Vigo EV a usable figure for city driving, provincial trips, and mixed-use ownership, while reducing the need for frequent charging stops.
The vehicle features a boxy shape, cut up with sharp angles to give it its compact, but muscular appearance. The wheel covers serve the usual EV purpose of improving aerodynamic efficiency, but removing them reveals a handsome set of 18-inch, black, split six-spoke alloy wheels underneath. This gives owners two ways to present the vehicle, with the covered wheels giving it a cleaner and more futuristic look, while providing alloy wheels for a second, more sporty appearance.
Inside, the Vigo EV is fitted with Zero Pressure Breathable Seats with heating and cooling functions. It also comes with Nap and Camp modes, which allow the vehicle to regulate cabin temperature and power onboard electronics while parked. The Vigo EV also has external Bluetooth speakers and vehicle-to-load functionality, giving owners a way to power external devices during outdoor stops, camping trips, or emergency use.
It also features a two-section tailgate designed to improve loading access for luggage, groceries, and sports equipment. Other convenience features include an advanced voice recognition control system and Music External Play Mode, which allows the vehicle to function as an outdoor entertainment hub.
Safety equipment includes an advanced driver assistance system equipped with automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, intelligent speed control, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and intelligent high beam control.
The Vigo EV comes with a 10-year or 170,000-kilometer battery warranty and a five-year or 150,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, whichever comes first.
