Board of Regents elevates UP Tacloban College into UP Tacloban

TACLOBAN CITY – The University of the Philippines Board of Regents (BOR) has officially elevated the University of the Philippines Tacloban College (UPTC) into a constituent university of the UP System.
It was approved during its 1409th meeting on Tuesday in Diliman, Quezon City.
The institution will now be formally called as UP Tacloban, the ninth constituent university under the UP System.
The institution was granted autonomous status in 2023 during the BOR’s 1380th meeting.
The autonomy was widely regarded as a crucial step towards full constituent university status.
