Mayor Isko thanks PBBM for swift aid to Parola fire victims
Domagoso said the national government’s swift response helped ease the burden of thousands of residents who lost their homes and belongings in the blaze.
The President personally visited the Delpan Evacuation Center alongside Domagoso and Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian to lead the distribution of relief assistance. During the visit, affected families received family clothing kits, hygiene kits, and P10,000 in cash aid to help them recover from the disaster.
Marcos also assured victims of continued government support, announcing that the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development will provide construction materials for rebuilding efforts.
Local officials said coordination between the city government and national agencies is ongoing to ensure that all affected families are accounted for and provided with immediate and long-term assistance.
The fire, which escalated to Task Force Charlie, left around 2,134 families homeless, prompting their temporary relocation to evacuation centers where food, medical aid, and psychosocial support are being provided.
Domagoso reiterated the city government’s commitment to assist the victims until they are able to fully recover, while also emphasizing the importance of fire prevention measures in densely populated communities.
