ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo provincial government is set to start digital monitoring of its infrastructure and development projects to boost efforts in transparency after formally receiving its grant from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. received the Digital Project Monitoring System, a P2.75-million grant that is part of the incentive under DILG’s Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) on Monday, May 25.
The Digital Project Monitoring System is a centralized digital platform with real-time monitoring capabilities that can monitor all infrastructure and development projects of the provincial government.
The automation of data can assess schedules of projects and budgetary issues.
DILG Iloilo Provincial Director Carmelo Orbista said the system shows that the Iloilo provincial government is committed to local governance.
“The province of Iloilo continues to demonstrate excellence in local administration and development initiatives, making it deserving of support mechanisms such as the Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund,” said Orbista. “Digital transformation is no longer an option, but a necessity in ensuring efficient public service delivery and accountable governance,” Orbista added.
