GMA Network ranks third worldwide in digital news views
The country’s top media company, GMA Network Inc., particularly its news programs, emerged among global leaders in viewership based on the Tubular Leadership Worldwide Rankings for April 2026.
GMA Network rose to No. 13 from its previous position of No. 24 in the latest Tubular Leadership Worldwide Ranking, while GMA News secured the No. 3 spot globally and emerged as the Philippines’ top news publisher under the news and politics category.
The network’s digital momentum was driven by 11.18 billion video views across its official online properties, consisting of five billion from Instagram, 3.06 billion from Facebook, 2.4 billion from TikTok, and 719 million from YouTube.
GMA Network said its sustained strong performance since January 2026 solidified its position as the highest-ranking media company in Southeast Asia under Tubular Labs’ entertainment and media category.
Meanwhile, GMA News generated 3.6 billion video views across its official digital platforms, including 2.9 billion from Instagram, 569 million from Facebook, and 119 million from YouTube.
This propelled GMA News in the rankings of global video analytics company Tubular Labs, surging from No. 40 in March to No. 3 globally in April.
With the latest achievement, GMA News joined United States (US)-based Fox News, which ranked first with 6.7 billion views, and NDTV India, which placed second with four billion views, surpassing other international news organizations such as Al Jazeera, CNN, and BBC News.
GMA News said key drivers of its high engagement included livestream coverage of newscasts and major news events such as the Senate and House of Representatives hearings on the fuel and energy crisis linked to US-Iran tensions, the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte, and international developments including the Artemis II Moon mission.
The network said it also strengthened its digital-first strategy through real-time reporting and online-focused content such as “Explainers by GMA News” and “What We Know So Far,” which provide contextualized and easily digestible updates for online audiences.
GMA News reporters also leveraged mobile journalism to deliver on-the-scene updates tailored for digital consumers, while the network expanded user-generated and short-form content offerings through initiatives such as “YouScoop+” and “News: Pinned.”
As GMA Network’s reach across the global media landscape continues to expand, the company said it remains committed to producing relevant and world-class content aimed at sustaining strong audience engagement online.
