CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – A couple was found dead following a heated argument about their relationship on Monday, May 25, in Barangay Parian, this city.
Police identified the victims as Armafe, 21, and Patrick, 26.
Investigation said the couple frequently engaged in domestic disputes. Armafe allegedly expressed her intention to end her relationship with Patrick.
A neighbor discovered the bodies of the victims in their rented room and immediately sought police assistance.
The victims sustained a stab wound in the neck.
Police treated the incident as a possible homicide-suicide and further investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, a 29-year-old woman was found dead in Barangay Darasa, Tanauan City, Batangas, on Monday morning.
The victim, Dawn, was discovered by a man gathering recyclable materials sprawled on the ground.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation and talked to the victim’s parents and boyfriend.
Rape suspect nabbed
Police apprehended a 28-year-old rape suspect in Mondragon, Northern Samar, on Monday morning.
The Police Regional Office 4-A headed by Police Brig. Gen. Hansel Marantan identified the suspect as Jerick, the No. 1 most wanted person in the Calabarzon region.
Jerick was arrested for 13 counts of statutory rape. Warrant was issued by a court in Antipolo City, Rizal with no bail recommended.
The PRO 4-A said they will continue to intensify operations against sexual offenders as part of their campaign to protect women and youth.
The suspect was subjected to mandatory physical and medical examination before being temporarily turned over to the Mondragon Municipal Police Station for proper documentation, custody, and appropriate disposition.
