3 drug suspects nabbed in Taguig resto sting

Police arrested three suspects, including a woman, and seized 200 grams of shabu during an entrapment operation inside a fast-food restaurant in Taguig City on May 25.

The buy-bust was carried out by the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) of the Southern Police District (SPD) at around 11:28 p.m. in a fast-food chain located in Barangay Lower Bicutan. 

Police identified the arrested suspects as alias Jamal, 28; alias Joharia, 23; and alias Yaser, 18. 

They will face a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). 

During the operation, an undercover officer acting as a poseur-buyer successfully transacted with the suspects. 

The operatives confiscated three plastic bags containing P1.36 million worth of shabu, the buy-bust money, and a cell phone. 

The suspects and recovered evidence were brought to the DDEU office for processing before the filing of the complaint before the Taguig City Prosecutor's Office.

"Intercepting newly identified targets with large quantities of contraband shows that our operations remain highly effective,” said Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco, SPD district director.
