A 26-year-old woman was arrested in an entrapment operation in Pasig City after allegedly extorting about ₱600,000 from a bank employee through threats related to their past relationship.
Police said the complainant, a 36-year-old bank employee, reported that the suspect had been demanding money since March 9, 2026 in exchange for not disclosing sensitive information about their illicit relationship in December 2024 and January 2025.
Authorities identified the suspect by the alias “Jessica,” a college student from Novaliches, Quezon City, while the complainant was identified only as “Wilfred.”
The latest alleged demand was made on Friday, May 22, when the suspect reportedly asked for ₱6,000 for enrollment expenses, prompting the complainant to seek police assistance and file a complaint before the Ortigas Police Sub-Station.
Acting on the complaint, personnel from the Ortigas Police Sub-Station coordinated with the City Investigation Section and Follow-Up Section for an entrapment operation at around 2:30 a.m. on May 23, 2026 at a coffee shop on Opal Road and Topaz Road in Ortigas Centre, Barangay San Antonio.
During the operation, the suspect was arrested after allegedly receiving marked money composed of one genuine ₱1,000 bill and five boodle money notes.
Police said the suspect was informed of her constitutional rights in a language she understood, and the arrest was documented through an alternative recording device.
The suspect was later brought to the Rizal Medical Center for mandatory medical and X-ray examination.
The Eastern Police District said appropriate charges are being prepared against the suspect, as it reiterated its intensified campaign against extortion and urged the public to report similar incidents to authorities.
