While the summer season is highly anticipated for much-awaited vacation trips and relaxation, the scorching heat hinders individuals from doing daily activities and having fun. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can cause sweating, dehydration, and fatigue, leading to inefficient performance. Outdoor tasks and even errands become more challenging; therefore, having everyday clothing pieces that are breathable, comfortable, and flexible is essential for maintaining ease and staying cool throughout the day.
Clothes that allow proper airflow and unrestricted movement help individuals move freely without feeling irritated or overheated, especially when outside or when exposed to the sun. Not only does this help one feel more comfortable and less stressed, but it also improves mobility, productivity, and overall confidence.
The UNIQLO AIRism and UV Protection collection steps up this season as an ideal solution to common summer discomforts like sweat, stickiness, odor, and sun exposure that make it difficult for people to perform daily activities and enjoy outdoor fun because of the heat.
The UNIQLO summer line-up was put to a test
To see whether the UNIQLO AIRism and UV Protection pieces can keep up with the summer activities, guests were invited for a quick escape that brings the spirit of summer into the city. With curated summer-inspired activities, the UNIQLO summer collection was placed under real-life conditions of the summer heat, showing how comfort, function, and style can make everyday experiences during the summer season still enjoyable.
Guests enjoyed a day full of breezy outdoor activities as they personally saw how the UNIQLO AIRism and UV Protection kept up with the summer heat in the city. Playing volleyball and frisbee from the curated mix of the collection made them feel protected against the sun, cool, fresh, and relaxed, despite the intense games.
With the AIRism’s stretchable and breathability features, guests were able to move around feeling fresh without restricted movements. On the other hand, the UV protection items offered added coverage without increasing heat while worn.
Several guests commend the lightweight and breathable features of the pieces, allowing them to effortlessly and easily move around, even when it’s hot. Most guests appreciated how it can be used under the Philippine weather, where sweat doesn’t visibly appear through the clothes, while still looking fashionable and versatile.
The featured UNIQLO pieces also have moisture-absorbing fibers that manage moisture better than ordinary polyester, even during sweating. Its deodorizing features help neutralize odors through advanced odor control technology, keeping unwanted smells at bay.
For athlete Kianna Dy, the functionality of the pieces struck her the most, where she felt really comfortable despite moving around outdoors and being under the intense sun. “The AIRism pieces felt very cool and smooth on my skin. While the UV Protection items gave that extra confidence that even if I'm outside and the sun is super intense, I feel protected from the UV rays,” she added.
Filipino actor Emilio Daez also joined the action-packed activities wearing a curated pair of UNIQLO AIRism and UV Protection. Despite spending hours playing under the sun and shooting content in between, Emilio showed no visible signs of sweat or heat irritation using the remarkable UNIQLO pieces.
How does UNIQLO AIRism and UV Protection actually work
The AIRism collection is made of materials with special fibers that disperse moisture and release heat to reduce sweaty discomfort. It helps with moisture wicking and quick evaporation of moisture, and it eliminates unpleasant fabric odors. It also features breathability, stretch for an ideal fit, and a soft, smooth feel against the skin. Its ultra-fine fibers, approximately 1/10 the thickness of human hair, provide a smoother texture and dry sweat roughly 1.9 times faster than cotton. With its light and breathable fabric, the collection is an ideal inner layer for summer, helping prevent sweat stains and sticky discomfort while staying cool and quick-drying.
Meanwhile, the UV Protection collection blocks 90 percent of harmful UV rays using fabrics with weaves and knits that work to reflect or absorb solar radiation so that they do not penetrate into the skin. It provides a high level of protection through UPF 50+ fabrics, which means it would take 50 times longer to experience the same level of UV impact as you would with bare skin, providing significantly greater protection.
The fun and enjoyment this summer season does not need to be compromised because of the uncomfortable heat. Choosing and investing in clothing made from materials designed to keep the body cool and comfortable can help stay fresh, avoid feeling too warm, and fully enjoy outdoor activities with greater ease and comfort. Lightweight and breathable pieces that come in stylish colors and versatile designs are not to miss, especially when they are thoughtfully created to enhance overall comfort and tailored with the wearer’s experience in mind, just like how UNIQLO integrates innovative fabric technology into its clothing to balance style and functionality.
