Man nabbed for robbing, killing businesswoman in Gen. Trias

CAVITE – Authorities arrested the suspect in a robbery with homicide incident that took place in Barangay Pasong Camachile 1 in Gen. Trias City on Saturday, May 23.

 The Cavite Police Provincial Office (Cavite PPO) identified the suspect as alias Mike.
Initial investigation revealed that on the day of the crime, the 58-year-old female businesswoman came home at 6:30 a.m. from the market. At around 6:45 a.m., however, the reporting person found the victim on the floor in a pool of blood.
She was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead.
A report from the Police Regional Office 4A said authorities found out that several things in the victim's house were missing, including bags and a CCTV device.
The suspect, identified as alias Mike, reportedly admitted the crime to his uncle, who coordinated with barangay officials, leading to his arrest on Sunday, May 24.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession were two cell phones with online cash balances totaling approximately P50,000, cash amounting to P3,304, and a tile cutter that alias Mike allegedly used in hitting the victim’s head.
Authorities also discovered the victim’s bag and the stolen CCTV device discarded on a street side, while other stolen possessions were found in the suspect’s house.
Cavite PPO said that alias Mike voluntarily executed a judicial confession regarding the incident.
