ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) is probing a group of minors who chased and tried to stab another minor on Sunday afternoon, May 24.
“We will not tolerate this kind of incident, and this must stop. Necessary coordination has already been made with concerned agencies for proper intervention and appropriate action. To our minors, let us always choose to do what is right for the good of our community and avoid actions that may harm others or lead to negative consequences,” said ICPO chief Police Col. Wilbert B. Parilla.
The incident caught on video and became viral online showed three minors chasing a 15-year-old student and his mother on the Diversion Road in Mandurriao District.
The 15-year-old victim slumped to the ground and one of the minors tried to stab him twice. The victim fought the perpetrators and bystanders in the area who noticed the commotion came to his aid.
The victim sustained minor injuries – dislocated left hand and bruises in the back and shoulder.
With the latest incident involving minors, ICPO urged intervention from the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) and the Iloilo City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
