DSWD-Disaster Response Management Group Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Irene Dumlao on Monday, May 25 said the intervention is part of the agency’s initial response, with further support still being prepared depending on the evolving needs of affected families.
We continue to assess the situation on the ground and are ready to provide additional assistance, including medical and burial support under AICS, for the victims of the incident in Pampanga),” she said.
Dumlao also said psychosocial support services are being provided to help families cope with the trauma brought by the incident, especially those who lost relatives or are still awaiting updates on missing loved ones.
She added that the DSWD is coordinating closely with the local government of Angeles City and other concerned agencies.
We are in close coordination with the local government, rescue teams, and other agencies such as DPWH to ensure continuous assistance and that no affected family is left behind),” Dumlao said.
DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian is currently in Pampanga to oversee disaster response operations and assess further assistance needed on the ground.
