Bulacan police arrested two men in buy-bust operations against illegal firearms in Bocaue and Plaridel during the early hours of Sunday, May 24, resulting in the seizure of a grenade, several guns, and live ammunition.

The first suspect, a laborer identified as alias Ugong, 33, was apprehended after selling a firearm during a sting in Barangay Antipona at around 12:40 a.m.
Lt. Col. Gilbert C. Diaz, Bocaue police chief, said authorities recovered from the suspect a .36-caliber revolver, a suspected hand grenade, and the marked buy-bust money.

Later that same dawn, joint forces of the Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and Plaridel police arrested alias Loloy, 70, a convenience store owner from Barangay San Rafael IV, City of San Jose del Monte.
Maj. Mark Anthony E. Tiongson, PIU officer-in-charge, reported that Loloy was nabbed after handing a .38-caliber revolver to an undercover buyer for P2,000.
Authorities also seized an improvised shotgun, another .38-caliber revolver, a .22-caliber gun, and assorted live ammunition.
The suspects and confiscated evidence were brought to the Bocaue Police Station and Bulacan PIU headquarters at Camp General Alejo Santos for documentation and filing of charges.
Col. Jay B. Baybayan, officer-in-charge of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, emphasized the police’s ongoing campaign against loose firearms and explosives.
“We will not stop conducting operations against illegal firearms and explosives that may pose a danger to the public. We will continue to strengthen our police operations to protect the public against any security threat,” Baybayan said.
