Several areas in Manila will experience a temporary water interruption from 9 p.m. on May 24 until 3 p.m. on May 25, due to emergency repair works on a damaged water pipeline in Ermita.
In an advisory, Maynilad Water Services said the repair involves a 750-millimeter pipeline located at the corner of Antonio Villegas Street and Natividad Lopez Street.
The service disruption will affect numerous barangays across the city, including parts of Districts 1 to 6. Among the affected areas are Barangays 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 14, 16, 17, 18, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 38, 39, 42, 43, 45, 46, 47, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 62, 63, 64, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 77, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 85, 86, 87, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 99, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 109, 110, 111, 112, 116, 118, 119, 120, 121, 122, 123, and several others.
Also included are Barangays 152, 153, 154, 156, 157, 158, as well as Barangays 234 to 335, and 649 to 744, including areas with suffixes such as 659-A, 660-A, and 664-A.
Residents in affected areas are advised to store enough water ahead of the scheduled interruption.
Maynilad said mobile water tankers will be deployed if necessary to provide a temporary water supply to affected communities.
Water service is expected to gradually return once repair works are completed and normal pressure is restored.
