10th Crunchyroll Anime Awards winners revealed

The winners of the 10th Crunchyroll Anime Awards were announced in Tokyo, Japan, on May 12, with a record 73 million votes cast worldwide.

The star-studded ceremony celebrated creators, musicians, and performers driving the global popularity of anime, marking a decade of the annual awards show dedicated to Japanese animation.

Renowned voice actress Sally Amaki and television personality Jon Kabira hosted the event, which highlighted anime’s continued cultural impact and its growing international audience.

Music artist The Weeknd presented the award for Anime of the Year, which went to "My Hero Academia Final Season."

Winners were announced by a lineup of celebrity presenters and anime fans, including GOT7 member BamBam, NCT and WayV’s Ten, actress Asuka Saito, cosplayer Enako, Japanese actress Kasumi Arimura, comedy duo Mitorizu, actress Nanase Nishino, esports host Nyvi Estephan, Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna, Wu-Tang Clan founding member RZA, actor Winston Duke, and Grammy-nominated artist Young Miko.

The pre-show, broadcast live from the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa, was hosted by Crunchyroll presenters Lauren Moore and Tim Lyu alongside YouTube creator Gigguk.

Additional awards were presented by singer Danna, Ethan Bortnick, Australian singer-songwriter Hannah Bahng, and cosplayer Snitchery.

The ceremony also featured live musical performances and tributes celebrating anime’s lasting influence on global pop culture.

Japanese singer Yoko Takahashi performed a 30th-anniversary tribute to the 1995 classic Neon Genesis Evangelion, delivering the iconic theme song “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis.”

The band PornoGraffitti performed in celebration of the 10th anniversary of My Hero Academia and its concluding chapter, while Asian Kung-Fu Generation took the stage with “Haruka Kanata,” the second opening theme of Naruto.

The Global Impact Award was presented during the ceremony to director Tatsuya Nagamine in recognition of his contributions to the industry. Animator Masayuki Sato, who has worked closely with Nagamine on projects including Happiness Charge PreCure! and One Piece, accepted the award on his behalf.
