Special Shari'ah Bar exams start May 24 in 4 testing centers
The Supreme Court (SC) will administer starting on Sunday, May 24, the two-day 2026 Shari’ah Special Bar Examinations (SSBE) in four testing centers – one in Metro Manila and three in Mindanao.
It was not known immediately how many examinees registered for the tests set at the New Era University (NEU) in Quezon City, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology in Iligan City, Ateneo de Davao University in Davao City, and Ateneo de Zamboanga University in Zamboanga City.
SC Associate Justice Henri Jean Paul B. Inting is the chairperson of the SSBE. The NEU is the SC’s national headquarters for the SSBE.
On May 24, subjects to be tackled by the examinees are Jurisprudence (Fiqh) and Customary Laws (Adat) from 8 a.m. to 12 noon; and Persons, Family Relations, and Property from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Scheduled for May 27 are Succession, Wills/Adjudication, and Settlement of Estates in the morning, and Procedure in the Shari’ah Courts in the afternoon.
Questions will be based solely on laws, rules and jurisprudence as of Aug. 8, 2025. The SC said that examinees may take the examinations in either English or Arabic.
