By Trixee Rosel
The Quezon City government announced that a traffic slowdown is expected on major roads in Quezon City on Sunday, May 24, due to the convoy transport of a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) for the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP).
The slow-moving convoy will travel from Plaridel, Bulacan, to the North Avenue Station along Mindanao Avenue between 2:45 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Traffic management teams from the Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) and the Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) will be deployed along the route to ensure orderly traffic flow.
Affected roads include C3 Road from 2:45 a.m. to 3:30 a.m., Araneta Avenue from 3:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m., Quezon Avenue from 4:30 a.m. to 5:10 a.m., Elliptical Road from 5:10 a.m. to 5:20 a.m., and North Avenue from 5:20 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
The TBM will be used for tunneling works that will connect the North Avenue Station and Quezon Avenue Station under the MMSP.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes and plan their trips ahead of time to avoid possible delays during the convoy operation.
