Officials of the province of Pampanga have extended assistance to a woman who was allegedly raped by a priest.
The victim, accompanied by her family, neighbors, and barangay officials, met and sought assistance from Gov. Lilia Pineda and provincial officials at the provincial capitol in San Fernando City, Pampanga, following the reported dismissal of her case by the provincial prosecutor.
She narrated her experience before them during the meeting.
Gov. Pineda and Vice Gov. Dennis Pineda said the provincial government will provide free legal assistance to the victim in coordination with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Pampanga Chapter.
The Pinedas assured the complainant and her family that they are prepared to support her in her quest for justice.
