K-pop idol Kwon Eun-bin quits entertainment industry after 10 years
K-pop idol and actress Kwon Eun-bin, formerly of girl group CLC, is leaving the entertainment industry after a decade-long career.
Her agency Cube Entertainment announced the termination of her exclusive contract following mutual discussions.
“After long discussions with our artist Kwon Eun-bin, we have decided to terminate the exclusive contract,” the agency said, adding its gratitude for her work since debuting with CLC in 2016 and later expanding into acting in 2018.
Following the announcement, reports said the 26-year-old star has expressed her intention to step away from public life entirely and live as an ordinary person.
Her public profiles on Korean portal sites have reportedly been removed, and she also requested the deletion of her entry on Namuwiki, citing privacy concerns.
“I have effectively suspended my activities in the entertainment industry… From now on, I intend to return to the life of an ordinary person and live quietly,” she said in her request.
She added that continued public access to her information has caused ongoing exposure of her privacy, prompting her request for removal of the page.
