Brewing coup attempts to change the Senate leadership have not died down and are still very much ongoing.

This was according to Erwin Tulfo, who said the current numbers are “tempting.”
"Ongoing po yan. Tuloy-tuloy po yan. Look at the number. 12-11. Parang matutukso ka eh. 12 lang sila. 11 kami (That’s ongoing. It’s continuous. Just look at the numbers — 12–11. You’d really be tempted. They only have 12. We have 11)," he said in an interview.
"Isa lang po humakbang dyan. Tapos ang boxing (It would only take one person to make a move, and the fight is over)," he added.
With Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa's departure, the majority bloc is currently left with 12 members. Dela Rosa had to return to the Senate to secure the 13 votes needed to replace Senator Vicente "Tito" Sotto III.
Rumors of a coup against Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano have surfaced since the infamous shooting incident inside the Senate. It has not materialized so far.
Talks included Senators Francis "Chiz" Escudero and Sherwin Gatchalian taking over the Senate leadership.
